ARLP Alliance Resource Partners, L.P.

Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. is a producer and marketer of coal to United States utilities and industrial users. At December 31, 2005, Alliance Resource Partners had approximately 549 million tons of proven and probable coal reserves in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. During the year ended December 31, 2005, the Company produced 22.3 million tons of coal, which constituted 30% low-sulfur coal, 14.8% medium-sulfur coal and 55.2% high-sulfur coal. In 2005, approximately 83.7% of its sales tonnage was consumed by electric utilities or coal sun fuel facilities, whose ultimate customers are electric utilities with the balance consumed by cogeneration plants and industrial users. The Company's largest customers, in 2005, were SSO, TVA and Mt. Storm Coal Supply. Alliance Resource Partners is managed by Alliance Resource Management GP, LLC. The Company operates in three segments: the Illinois Basin, Central Appalachia and Northern Appalachia.
