ASTI ASCENT SOLAR TECH
Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (Ascent) was formed to commercialize certain photovoltaic (PV) technology developed by ITN Energy Systems, Inc. (ITN) for space and near-space applications. By leveraging this technology inherited from ITN, Ascent intends to manufacture PV modules in commercial quantities that use a thin-film Copper-Indium-Gallium-diSelenide (CIGS) absorbing layer on a flexible high-temperature plastic substrate. The Company has produced and tested small-scale demonstration samples of its CIGS PV products at the laboratory level, but it has not yet produced any products in commercial quantities nor has it yet received any revenues from the proposed products that it intends to commercialize as the Company's principal business activity.
