Aastrom Biosciences, Inc. (Aastrom) is a development-stage company focused on the development of the ex vivo production and sale of human cell products for use in cell therapy and tissue regeneration. The Company's pre-clinical and clinical product development programs utilize bone marrow-derived adult stem and progenitor cell mixtures being investigated for aiding in the growth of tissues, such as bone, vascular tissue and cartilage, as well as blood and immune system cells. Aastrom's products contain tissue repair cells (TRCs), which are mixture of bone marrow-derived adult stem and progenitor cells, which are produced outside of the body or ex vivo from a small amount of bone marrow taken from the patient.
